In the last post we have seen how the enlarged ports permit better flow, avoid turbolences and, at the end, increase efficency of the system as a whole.
Recently some of our customers (both installers and final customers) have declared how important for them it is, that the valve can resist and last for decades without any maintenance or need for replacement: you install it and then you forget about it.
the cleaning operations of the loop have to be fulfilled periodically, but, apart from this, the fill- and drain valve does not need to be touched.
What helps to keep this valve efficient (no leaks) for decades?
Basically it's a question of material quality: the valve is made out of best quality hot forged brass (it's not a cheap, cast product)
the structure of the material is very stable without any internal stresses: this is crucial for the life of the product.
There are no junctions between parts and therefore the risk of leaks is dramatically reduced.
It's a sturdy product and, even if the price is maybe higher than other products with same function, please mind that at the end you will save money because you will not need to replace it for decades!
And also mind the increased reliability of your system.
